A Master’s student in UCD’s Library and Information Studies sets up a blog to chart his understanding of DigiMedia.

My reasoning in choosing this course was to try and study as many courses that embraced new aspects of media. A lot of my friends are often bemused at the choices offered by a library course in that a lot of the courses don’t seem to have anything to do with being a librarian. I’d disagree, however. This course is essential for the ‘new’ librarian, regardless of where he or she works. Podcasting, blogging, using Facebook and Twitter to promote yourself and/or your library are becoming increasingly important nowadays.
